I started to learn Bollywood dance from my dear friend
Khush, from Bombay India.
I took private classes and workshops from her
for about three years and it gave me a good base foundation. Then I
started watching more and more movies and copying the moves
from the movies. Now, I am able to choreograph
all on my own.
I
absolutely love the expressions and movements of Bollywood
dance and Khush swears I was Indian in another life. I learn all the
words to every song that I dance to so I can sing along.
I am
available to perform dazzling Bollywood dances straight from the movies
at your next
Indian event!

Generally the
songs work best when done in 2 sets of 3 songs each or 3 sets of 2
songs each. That way
the appropriate
costume changes can be made (certain songs require head veils)
and the sets are not too long that the audience gets bored.
It also depends how you want to spread
out the show over the course of the evening.
Special request songs are
accepted but will require an additional $500 charge for the new
choreography.
Amira's choreographies are movie quality and take many hours to put
together especially since Hindi is not Amira's
first language. :-) But you can be assured the final dance will be a
stunning visual spectacle of Bollywood at its finest!
Amira
has many costumes exactly accurate or similar to the movies.
including....

Beedi Jalaili from OMKARA

A beautiful white
and silver ensemble that can be used for Desi Girl, Taal, or Yaad Piya.
Amira dressed similar to Aishwarya Rai from the movie "Devdas".
For some performances I work with my dance partner Vanja. We can do a
combination of solos
and duets including our most requested duet...Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai.
