Amira began dancing at the age of 5 with her first number being a cute tap dance called "Yellow Polka Dot Bikini".  Throughout her childhood, she continued dancing tap, ballet, and jazz and as a teenager took up Irish step dancing in which she won several trophies.  She stopped dancing while pursuing her B.S. in physics and a little over a year after graduation, discovered Middle Eastern dance. After many years of successful performances at restaruants and dinner shows in Florida, including Disney's Indiana Jones Cairo Dinner Show, Arabian Nights Dinner Show Attraction, Cedars Lebanese resturant and Ali Baba Persian restaurant, Amira is now focusing on Bollywood, the film dances from India.  She also is well known internationally and nationally for her "bellydancing Slave Leia Act" as seen at Star Wars Celebration 4 and 5 and featured in the movie "Jedi Junkies". Amira has a high functioning form of autism known as Asperger's syndrome and this has presented many challenges for her to overcome in the performance and entertainment world. Her name, Amira Sa'id, means "happy princess" in Arabic and indeed Amira is happiest when expresssing herself through dance and hopes all her audiences will share her joy, dance spirit, and love of life!
