Red Raks!

On January 10, 2004 I performed a red hot
"Techno Shamadan" at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Orlando at
the Winter Babylon Breeze customer appreciation event.

Spinning Madly!!

At the Orlando Regional Gathering of MENSA (of which I am a member),
otherwise known as "SmartiGras 2004" I performed a  1 hour set,
yes 1 hour! of a wide variety of belly dance.  Here I am spinning
madly with wings and double veils alike.
Can you tell which is which??

A Night of Middle Eastern and Greek Belly Dance

At the December meeting of the Gainesville-area MENSA (of which I am a member)
I demonstrated the art of Middle Eastern and Greek Bellydance at
Sandy's Place -Greek American restaurant in Gainesville.

AAt the 6th Annual MEDEA Holiday Recital, I debuted my own choreography
to the classic song, "Aziza". This piece was inspired by Kathryn Ferguson, of whom
I studied with privately for a week in Tucson, AZ in August of 2003. Thank you Kathryn!!

Cathleen and I made quite a sensation at City Walk on Halloween night

Sultan's Stars performed at the Fall Arts Festival in downtown Gainesville.
We opened with "Raks Mona", then followed with our cane dance and
ended with "Awazal".











I did a hot drum solo (literally) choreography by Jillina.

On Oct 18, Sultan's Stars had their debut opening for 2012 at the Shamrock.
We did a 45 minute show. I opened with "Techno Shamadan", the group did Raks Leyla,
Soraya's cane dance, and our newest number, Soraya's  "Awazal". Cathleen and
Felicia did a beautiful veil duet to Rum Tum Bi Salama and I did a rockin' drum solo
choreographed by Jillina. I closed the show with my signature sword dance.













  Pemella and I regularly open for the very talented band 2012. Recent appearances have been
at Alligator Rocks and the Shamrock in downtown Gainesville.






Other Events

On June 13, 2003, I attended the Atlanta workshop and show featuring Yasmina Ramzy.
 I danced to a choreography by Raqia Hassan in the Egyptian style.

In Tallahassee, on June 28, 2003 I performed for the first time,
the Spanish Arabic fusion dance I have been working on for many months.
The choreography was by my Spanish dance teacher Gitana de la Luna.
I also performed a fiery performance of this dance at Raks Adunya 2003 this
July.
